This was taken before I was headed to Ariane and Stuart's rehearsal. Jocelyn wanted me to text her a pic of me (even though I was going to see her that night). I thought the picture turned out alright! But I will say - I need to get some tanning cream or something. I'm so pale. Can you use tanning cream while prego? I'm gonna ask the doc about that on Monday.

Jocelyn asked for a bump pic - so here's one I snapped in the ladies room at work. Damn those fluorescent lights! I think the bathrooms in my office are the only place where LED lighting is NOT installed...makes a difference! Goodness I'm PALE. But beautiful!

Are You Sure You're Not Having Twins?

I've gotten the question more than once...

are you sure you're not having twins?

So obviously I'm really showing for only being 20 weeks pregnant. Big deal. Baby is large. She's gonna be tall (according to the ultrasound tech). That's okay!

Every woman's body is different and apparently my body shows this baby easily.

But wouldn't that be something if 2 babies show up on our next ultrasound? Doubtful - seriously. But I might faint if that were to happen!

Hostess Ho Ho Hunt

Have I mentioned that Steve & I have been on the hunt for a few weeks for hostess ho hos and we haven't been able to find them? I guess you can say I got a craving for them and we searched in walmart (2 locations), lowes foods and even gas stations (Steve is so sweet to think outside of the box like that) and we haven't had any success. Well - Steve decided to stop at Harris Teeter last night to pick up a few groceries and guess what???? HO HOS!!!!! He came home with a box and made me a very happy pregnant wife! Thank you Steve!

Quotes from Ty

This morning, my boss Ty came into my office to go over something I'm working on for him, and before he dove into what we were working on he said "wow, you are really looking pregnant". My reply - "why yes, Ty, I am pregnant." We got a good laugh out of that one.

Then just a few minutes ago, he asked me to come into his office (which is just across the hall) to go over some more edits and then apologized and said he felt bad for continuing to make me go back and forth between offices. I told him it was okay - I needed the exercise anyway!

Glowing

I've been told by a number of people that I'm glowing. A co-worker of mine just stopped in to congratulate me and said that he really thinks I'm just glowing. These hormones must be doing me some good! I have noticed my skin seems to be more clear, which is interesting b/c I thought for sure I would breakout like a 13 year old with the surge of extra hormones! But I'll take glowing over breakouts any day!!

19 Weeks

Yesterday my pregnancy hit 19 weeks. Almost halfway there! Kinda crazy! This past weekend, my friend Ariane married Stuart. What a wonderful weekend. I passed my camera off to my friend Beth and she captured this profile shot of me...dang - i'm gonna get huge I think!

Ariane asked that I be her wedding day coordinator and I was honored to be involved in such a perfect weekend. Yesterday was quite the long day but it was a great day. I think BGB had fun shaking it on the dance floor at the reception too!

This pregnancy is still very surreal to me. I still do a double take walking by the mirror and can't believe the miracle I am growing in my womb. I can't wait to meet this little bundle of joy! I am not feeling any movement yet - at least I don't THINK I am. Maybe I am but I don't realize I am. :-) I'm looking forward to feeling her move, hopefully in the next week or 2! BGB is about the size of an heirloom tomato.

BGB may also be able to hear me now! I think I'm gonna start reading her a book nightly. Which one should I get!?!

PS. The whole ladies room fashion show I was thinking of doing? Yeah - not gonna do that! I don't really like taking self pics of myself with my phone...so scrap that idea!

It Was Only A Dream

I had a dream last night that BGB was born at 1:39am with a full head of black hair. I had gone into labor, but never felt pain. I fell asleep and woke up to her flying out of me (still no pain) and the nurse caught her. We informed family that she had arrived and then my mom and I went to Golden Corral for dinner.

I am sorry - but is this not just the CUTEST THING???? It's a newborn onesie for BGB (new name for Baby Girl Baum). I laid it on my baby bump and snapped a pic w/ my phone. cute, cute, cute!!!

18 Weeks [and 2 days]

I am NOT looking cute in these pictures, but since I didn't get a 17 week bumpdate posted, I went ahead and took a few shots of me today. I've already got my PJ pants on for comfort - even though I was wearing a comfy black cotton skirt, my thighs were creating some friction - so I put my PJ pants on! 

I Got A Craving



I got a craving. A taco bell craving. A mexican pizza from taco bell. And a beef meximelt & nachos. And they have root beer, so I had to get a root beer! I ate all of the nachos, most of the pizza & only a few bites of the meximelt. It was yummy. And I'm sure the bathroom will be calling my name soon. I'm not sure how long it's been since I've had taco bell!

We Have A Plan

Today I had a consultation with the guru of blood disorders, Dr. Andra James with Duke. Since my 8 week appointment when I was told I would be on a blood thinner regimen, I have questioned why the many differences in protocol when it comes to blood disorders and pregnancy.

So today was about answers for me and a protocol that I feel I can trust from someone who specializes in the exact situation I am in with this pregnancy. So we have a plan. Yay! I feel good. No more questioning every doctor I see.

And I got to hear baby girl's heartbeat again today! Makes me want to rent a doppler and listen to her heartbeat every day!

Color me PINK!

This past Thursday (on our 4 year anniversary), Steve and I went to my 16 week appointment and we got to hear the heartbeat for the 1st time! Steve recorded it on his phone - see if this link works.

Then on Friday we had our level II ultrasound and we found out we're having a GIRL! So fun! Now the task of naming her will be a daily discussion, with input from everyone (appreciated). We do have a few on the table. My hope for Jackson will have to wait for baby #2, b/c Steve isn't in LOVE with the name of Jackson for a girl and of course he is hoping to also have a boy in the future - so we will just see when we will be able to put the name Jackson to use!
